About Waypost Counseling
Waypost Counseling is a growing behavioral health practice in Indianapolis, Indiana, dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-informed mental health and addiction treatment services. Our clinical work emphasizes individualized care, professional integrity, personal accountability, and meaningful, lasting change.
We provide services to adults experiencing a range of behavioral health concerns, including substance use disorders, problem gambling, relationship difficulties, and other mental health challenges.
As we continue to expand, we are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and clinically skilled full-time therapist to join our team.
Position Overview
The Full-Time Therapist provides comprehensive behavioral health assessment and treatment services to individuals and groups in a hybrid clinical setting, incorporating both in-office appointments and secure telehealth services.
The ideal candidate demonstrates sound clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a commitment to ethical, evidence-informed practice. This position offers an opportunity to develop clinical expertise while contributing to a collaborative and growing behavioral health organization.
Current independent clinical licensure is not required. We welcome qualified master's-level professionals whose educational background supports a pathway toward eventual clinical licensure, and clinical supervision toward licensure is provided by an LCSW/LCAC and included as part of the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial intake assessments, including evaluation of presenting concerns, psychosocial history, risk factors, and treatment needs.

Provide individual psychotherapy and group therapy services to assigned clients.

Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans.

Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation, including intake assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.

Participate in clinical staffing meetings, case consultations, and interdisciplinary treatment planning.

Assess client progress and modify treatment approaches as clinically indicated.

Coordinate with referral sources, community providers, and other professionals when appropriate and authorized.

Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable ethical, legal, and regulatory standards.

Participate in professional development, training, and clinical supervision as applicable.

Perform additional clinical responsibilities or duties consistent with the position and organizational needs.
Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related behavioral health discipline from an appropriately accredited institution.

Educational qualifications that support eligibility for a pathway toward clinical licensure in the State of Indiana.

Current clinical licensure is not required at the time of application.

Demonstrated understanding of clinical assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-informed therapeutic interventions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to maintain accurate clinical records and manage assigned responsibilities independently.

Commitment to ethical practice, professional accountability, and client-centered care.

Ability to provide services in both in-office and virtual treatment environments.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience providing individual or group behavioral health treatment.

Experience working with substance use disorders, problem gambling, or co-occurring mental health conditions.

Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based approaches.

Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.

Current Indiana associate-level or independent professional licensure, or progress toward clinical licensure.

Reporting Structure
The Full-Time Therapist reports directly to the Executive Director or designated supervisory personnel and works collaboratively with other clinical and administrative team members.
